The fitting
For a straightforward kitchen where the walls, floor and services are ready, the joinery is often done in a few days. One customer's Howdens kitchen was fitted in three solid days.
Before the fit
If walls are coming out, the room is being replastered, or electrics, gas and plumbing need moving, that work happens first. Ash organises his own plasterer, electrician and gas engineer so it runs in the right order.
After the fit
Worktops made to measure, such as quartz, are templated once the units are in and fitted later. Tiling, splashbacks and decorating then finish the job.
What slows it down
Late or damaged deliveries are the most common cause. Check everything when it arrives, so missing or broken parts can be reordered straight away.
Living without a kitchen
Set up a temporary area with a kettle, microwave and fridge in another room. The team clean up at the end of each day so the house stays usable.
